Casper

I promised photos of the new puppy - here they are.

He's an 11 week old (10 weeks old in the photos above) Maltese x King Charles Cavalier x Miniature Poodle.  It's been suggested that confused look on his face is because of that fact.

We're slowly teaching him not to chew everything and pee on everything else, and of course, being a puppy, he spends half the day playing, half the day sleeping.  Actually it's more like 85% of the day playing, and then goes out like a rock in the evenings.
But he's getting along with the other two dogs fine, and we've already taken him for a run around the new block while we inspected.

So yes, this is Casper, who will be moving in with me :)

We're being delayed again!?

Thursday I got a call with a bit of an update - an update to say that nothing's happened.

Metricon are claiming that they hadn't received the R&C back yet, and they don't apply for a building permit until they've got the R&C back.
That permit takes about 2 weeks to come back, and then there's at least two clear weeks after that while they check plans, do site inspections, all that jazz.
In other words, there's somewhere between buckleys and no chance of there being a site start on August 10 as previously discussed - in fact, we might be lucky to see a site start in August.

Ultimately there's not a lot I can do though - even though the question's been raised as to whether or not they're in breach of contract, that doesn't really help me, as the only option there that opens up is to cancel a contract, which would get me nowhere, lose deposits, and lose grants.

Sigh.

Zzzzzz...

Yeah, there's really nothing happening! "Second week of August" was the last I heard. The only update to speak of is that since they've delayed it further, I figure I won't be moving in until January.


So I bought a puppy.  That's all :P

We have a neighbour!

I realised there hasn't been an update in a little while now.  To tell the truth, it's been very quiet and nothing much has been happening.  The re-drafted loan papers have been put together with minimal noise from ANZ, so that's all taken care of, and I've not heard any updates from Metricon to say anything about the R&C.
They've been in contact with me wanting me to scan, sign and return copies of colour schedules so they can order bits and pieces, but other than that very quiet on that front.

Maybe the only significant point of note is that while out at the block I noticed (hard to miss) that we now have a neighbor behind us!  Their property sits about half along my back boundary line, and while out there the tradies were pouring the slab.
Looks like it's being built by Henley, so it may actually end up being one of the smaller designs I was looking at in the first place myself.  In fact, I might even be able to figure that out from the layout of the slab.
Henley tend to build a little bit quicker than Metricon from what I've seen, so they'll probably be in before I am.  The race is on! :D
